Question 1

List your judicial experience (courts and years)

Lucas County Court of Common Pleas (January 2011-present)

Question 2

What non-judicial legal experience qualifies you to be a judge?

Prior to my contested election of November 2010, I was Chief of the Criminal Division of the Lucas County Prosecutor’s Office for over fourteen years. In that capacity I supervised a staff of 27 attorneys, tried major felony prosecutions, implemented policy decisions, and ensured ethics compliance. I have taught multiple courses with the University of Toledo College of Law and was an instructor for the National College of District Attorneys.

Additionally I have lectured on ethics compliance for the Ohio Attorney General‘s Office, the City of Toledo Law Department, and the Toledo Women’s Bar Association. Further, and I have instructed as to advanced discovery and motion practice for the Civil Court Judicial Forum, expert witnesses for the Utah State Annual Bar Convention and effective case resolution for the National CLE Conference.

I was elected administrative judge for our ten member court, and I am a member of the National Association for Presiding Judges, the American Bar Association Judicial Division, the American Judges Association and the Ohio Common Pleas Judges Association among others.

Question 3

Why are you running for this particular court seat?

I am seeking my third term as a Common Pleas Court judge (happily unopposed for the second time) with the goal of using my experience and knowledge to continue to assist in bringing about fair resolutions of matters in dispute consistent with the rules of procedure and case precedent.
