Question 2

What non-judicial legal experience qualifies you to be a judge?

I began my legal career as an assistant Prosecutor in Hamilton County. I served in the juvenile, municipal, and common pleas division for five years. I spent the next twenty years representing persons and corporations in criminal and civil matters. Having done most of the jobs I see lawyers performing daily, I am uniquely qualified to be a Common Pleas Judge. I have twenty four years of real world court experience.

Question 3

Why are you running for this particular court seat?

I am running this particular court seat for multiple reasons. First off, our courts are in need of change. One solution to improving our Justice System is to find better alternatives to sending people to jail. As a judge, I have always worked with individuals to ensure that punishment is consistent with the crime they have committed. In this process, especially when it is drug related, I attempt to find solutions for the offender that avoid unnecessary time in jail. Having them attend addiction services, wellness counseling, and other rehabilitative services are just some of the solutions that I use to avoid jailing individuals. Secondly, serving on the bench is a huge honor and one that I hope to continue. As a judge, I rule with complete fairness and consistency with the law. Our judges matter, especially here in Hamilton County. I am proud of the work I have been able to accomplish so far, and I am looking to continue this after being re-elected this November.
