I have been an elected official for 27 years. 19 of those have been in my Judicial capacity. I have heard approximately 20,000 felony cases and close to 25,000 civil cases. I have not had any criminal cases remanded back to my court to redo. I have had 7 civil cases come back to redo. I have had no hung juries, no disciplinary complaints nor have I ever had to defend myself in any lawsuits.
What non-judicial legal experience qualifies you to be a judge?
For the past 19 years I have been a judge. Prior to that being a single mother of four gives me a broader perspective and compassion for individuals who appear in my court.Abbreviated Candidate Answers
I was a single mom of four when I went to college and law school. Being a mother with two boys and two girls allowed me to understand the nature of children up through adults. It gives me compassion and understanding.
