I run a specialized docket/drug court, which I started in 2005.  I am the chairperson of the local Community Corrections Planning Board. I am involved with the local arts community as a member of the Board for Tuscarawas Arts Partnership.  I am also active with the local community theatre organizations.  I have served as a Sunday school teacher at my church, Broadway Global Methodist Church, since 2006.

Question 1

List your judicial experience (courts and years)

I have served as the Common Pleas Court, General Trial Division Judge since January 1999.

Question 2

What non-judicial legal experience qualifies you to be a judge?

I was raised in a home where good manners and hard work were emphasized.  These two disciplines have carried me far in my lifetime.  My non-judicial legal experiences are pretty far back in time, but the enduring impact of my father's mentorship continues.  He was very strict about finding and following the law.  He mentored me and three other women who ultimately became judges.

Question 3

Why are you running for this particular court seat?

I enjoy my position.  I feel called to serve.  I have seen many changes in people and the community over the past 24 years.  It is fulfilling to see positive changes with people involved in the criminal justice system.
