Question 1

List your judicial experience (courts and years)

Noble County Court, 2021-present

Abbreviated Candidate Answers

Noble County Court, 2021-present

Question 2

What non-judicial legal experience qualifies you to be a judge?

I had prior experience as both a civil litigator and prosecutor which prepared me for the challenges of running a court.  I am faimilar with all of the types of cases we encounter in county court.  My experience enables me to recognize the need for both compassion and punishment in county court.  Not every case is the same, and I believe my 20 years as a prosecutor has enabled me to recognize what justice may be for a particular situation. My experience in civil litigation has prepared me for the vast number of pro se (non attorney) litigants in county court.  Many of the people do not understand the process, so patience is required to handle their cases.

Question 3

Why are you running for this particular court seat?

I am running to continue the work that I began last year.  Not only have I enjoyed being home, I believe that I have made a difference in the community. County court is the type of court where I am most comfortable and believe that I can do the most good.  I am proud of the website we have created and the strides in recovery we made this year with reporting probation. I want to continue to improve the court experience and obtain fair results for the people who appear in front of me.  It is truly the people's court, and I want to keep serving as its judge.
