List your judicial experience (courts and years)

Currently, I am a Judge for Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court, General Division (2022-Present). I preside over a full trial docket consisting of civil cases, criminal cases, as well as approving magistrate decisons in the areas of foreclosure and civil protection orders.

Over my past 30 years of public service in our community, I have served as a Magistrate for Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court from 1999-2005 and 2020-2021. I have a strong understanding of how to interpret and enforce the Ohio Rules of Evidence, Civil and Criminal Procedures, statutory and case law, as well as extensive trial experience.

Question 2

What non-judicial legal experience qualifies you to be a judge?

I have 30 years of legal experience, including 28 years in public service as a Judge, Magistrate, and Assistant County Prosecutor for the citizens of Cuyahoga County. As a prosecutor, I developed extensive trial and appellate experience which include a deep understanding of the Rules of Evidence, Rules of Criminal Procedure, and Ohio statutes and case law. I have personally tried or have been part of a team who has tried 49 jury trials and I have handled thousands of criminal cases. In addition, I have argued numerous times before the Ohio Eighth District Court of Appeals and argued on brief before the Supreme Court of Ohio.

Question 3

Why are you running for this particular court seat?

I believe freedom is ensured when the rule of law is observed. I am dedicated to providing fair, competent, and respectful judicial redress in which all parties can be assured of an equitable result. I stand firmly for the rights of victims and the safety of our community by holding violent criminals accountable and I am committed to protecting individual rights and ensuring equal justice under the law by upholding our Constitution and the Bill of Rights. I am also dedicated to being fair and equitable with non-violent offenders by offering treatment options and other resources to reduce chances of recidivism. Public service has always been at the forefront of my career and continuing to serve our community as Judge of the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court, General Division has been my greatest honor and privilege. I am grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the citizens of Cuyahoga County each and every day.
