Question 1

List your judicial experience (courts and years)

N/A

Question 2

What non-judicial legal experience qualifies you to be a judge?

My experience in front of countless judges in various courts has provided the opportunity to observe a tremendous amount of judicial temperaments and styles. As a prosecutor, it was my responsibility not to seek a conviction at any cost, but to seek justice. This often meant looking beyond just what the elements of the offense are and whether I can meet that burden, but to examine each case to find a just outcome. This required regularly providing sentencing recommendations based on the case facts, aggravating and mitigating factors, and potential victim or witness impact statements. I practiced as both a criminal and civil lawyer as lead on jury trials in both settings. This experience provides me with an in-depth knowledge of the rules of procedure for both types of cases tried in this Court.

Question 3

Why are you running for this particular court seat?

I believe it is important to treat people like people. Often, in our overburdened court systems, cases are treated like a number rather than an individual person or persons whose lives are affected by the outcome. I believe it is important for each person that comes into the courtroom to feel like they have had their side of the case heard by a judge that is impartial. Each person, whether they are the victim, a witness, a defendant, or an attorney, deserves to be treated with respect and dignity.
